SAHIWAL: An ambush on Sahiwal-Faisalabad Road on Friday morning killed two captured terrorists, including the mastermind of the 2021 Dasu bombing, which killed nine Chinese and four Pakistanis.
According to the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of the Punjab Police, five terrorists—Muhammad Hussain alias Syed Mohammad, who orchestrated the Dasu blast; his friend Muhammad Ayaz, also known as Janbaz; When the convoy was attacked, Saleem Khan, alias Toor, Abu Bakar, and Latifullah Masood, and three others were moving from Sahiwal prison to Mianwali jail in two separate prison vans.
For their participation in the July 14, 2021, bombing of a bus carrying Chinese and Pakistani workers to the Dasu hydropower project construction site, Hussain and his four accomplices received the death penalty from military courts.
According to CTD officials, the shooters attempted to free their accomplices from the prison vans in an area under the Bahadur Shah police station’s jurisdiction before burst the tires.
At the point when the police answered, around 12 shooters started shooting at the vans, authorities said.
The CTD claimed that Hussain and Ayaz were killed by the gunfire of their accomplices, and that five bullets struck an elite force van during the shooting. Police were able to stop the attack. However, the attack did not injure any of the officials.
The remaining three terrorists were then moved to the designated location in safety.
