The Trump administration’s crackdown on immigration escalated significantly over the weekend, leading to hundreds of arrests. On Friday, the FBI apprehended Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Hannah Dugan, charging her with allegedly aiding an undocumented immigrant in her courtroom to evade arrest. Over a four-day period, ICE and Florida law enforcement agencies detained nearly 800 individuals suspected of being undocumented immigrants. In Colorado Springs, more than 100 people, accused of residing in the country without proper documentation, were arrested following a raid on an underground nightclub. Amidst these widespread arrests, staff members from the Department of Government Efficiency are reportedly developing a comprehensive database of sensitive information gathered from agencies such as the IRS, Social Security, and Health and Human Services. Trump administration officials stated that this database will facilitate the creation of “targeting lists” intended for the location, detention, and deportation of migrants.
