Liaquat Baloch, the Naib Ameer (Deputy Chief) of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), has made a significant political claim, stating that if his party “conquers” Lahore, it will lead to the party’s rule over the entire country.
He made these remarks during the oath-taking ceremony for Ziauddin Ansari, the newly elected Ameer of JI for Lahore. Liaquat Baloch formally administered the oath of office to Ansari.
In his address, Baloch emphasized the party’s core strength, stating, “If we remain firm on the power of our ideology, we can achieve success.” He also announced that JI will hold a major public gathering (Ijtima-e-Aam) at the Minar-e-Pakistan ground from November 21 to 23.
Commenting on the nation’s political history, Liaquat Baloch said that an attempt at a “one-party system” was made in the past with the selection of Bhutto. He added that later, a “popular personality” (referring to the PTI founder) was brought into the field, who was “selected because of a successful rally at Minar-e-Pakistan.”
