International Cricket Council (ICC) President Jay Shah has deleted a contentious social media post in which he expressed support for the Indian Army.
Previously, Shah faced scrutiny after posting a message endorsing the Indian Army, raising concerns regarding the neutrality of the global cricket governing body. Shah shared a controversial post on social media commending the Indian Armed Forces, leading critics to question whether the ICC represents the International or Indian Cricket Council.
“Our Armed Forces are our pride, and no words are enough to express their valour and commitment in protecting our motherland and people,” Shah had stated in the post.
The post has ignited debate over whether such public displays of national sentiment are appropriate for an individual holding a key international sporting position, where impartiality is typically expected.
