The National Logistics Corporation (NLC) has successfully completed the reconstruction of the Hub Bridge, a crucial transportation link between Sindh and Balochistan that was destroyed by floods in 2002.
The newly constructed two-lane bridge spans 488 feet across the Hub River and has resumed operations, significantly improving traffic flow on the N-25 highway connecting Karachi, Quetta, and nearby regions.
Improved Connectivity and Trade Facilitation
With the bridge’s completion, travel times have been reduced, and long-standing logistical challenges have been addressed. Passenger and commercial vehicles can now move seamlessly between the two provinces, boosting trade and economic activities.
Despite challenging conditions and limited local resources, NLC completed the project through round-the-clock operations. The bridge has been designed to accommodate both commercial and civilian traffic, featuring two lanes to manage the heavy flow of vehicles along the N-25 highway.
Contribution to Economic Development
The restoration of this vital link is expected to contribute to regional economic growth by enabling more efficient movement of goods and people. The improved infrastructure ensures a safer and more direct route for travelers while supporting increased commercial activities in the area.
The Hub Bridge serves as a key component of the N-25 highway network, playing an essential role in Pakistan’s transportation infrastructure. It strengthens inter-provincial commerce and connects major urban centers, facilitating trade and mobility on a larger scale.
