In Houston, Texas (KTRK) — Court documents reveal that a suspect has been apprehended in connection with the tragic death of 46-year-old attorney Jeffrey Limmer over the weekend.
Anthony Martin Landry, 57, faces murder charges in the fatal shooting of Limmer.
Police responded to a shooting incident at a McDonald’s near the Katy Freeway, where they found Limmer unresponsive, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to an investigation by the Houston Police Department (HPD), Limmer attempted to de-escalate a situation involving Landry, who was reportedly dissatisfied with his order and demanded a refund. Allegedly, Landry was shouting racial slurs and became increasingly agitated.
Based on court documents, an altercation ensued outside the restaurant between Limmer and Landry, during which Limmer pushed Landry to the ground before returning inside the fast-food establishment.
Investigators state in the court records that Landry retrieved a firearm from his truck and fatally shot Limmer before fleeing the scene in a blue Ford pickup truck.
Law enforcement managed to locate and apprehend the suspect, who was positively identified as the shooter by a witness.
Records indicate that Landry was previously out on bond for assaulting a family member in February.
Currently held without bond, Landry awaits his initial court appearance while in jail.
