On Tuesday, Houston Dynamo suffered a setback as they conceded a goal in the 40th minute, with Cucho Hernandez of the Crew finding the back of the net with a right-footed shot past Dynamo goalkeeper Steve Clark.
Despite their efforts, the Dynamo managed to level the score in the 90th minute when Griffin Dorsey successfully converted a penalty awarded to Houston following a handball call against Columbus.
Although five minutes of stoppage time were added, the Dynamo were unable to create another scoring opportunity as the team received two yellow cards for fouls.
With a 2-1 aggregate advantage in favor of the Crew after both legs, the Dynamo were eliminated from the competition, bringing their focus back to the Major League Soccer regular season.
Currently winless after two matches, the Dynamo have recorded one draw, one loss, and just one point for the season.
Their next MLS fixture is scheduled for Saturday, when they will host the Portland Timbers at Shell Energy Stadium.
