HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — The heat is on for this Fourth of July!
Temperatures will continue to slowly climb Sunday and Monday with most of us topping out in the mid to upper 90s. Heat index values are expected to near or exceed 105. We could see a stray shower or storm each day but chances are slim.
What’s in store for the rest of the holiday weekend?
Sunday’s rain chance will drop to 20%, and with even less clouds in the sky temperatures will warm toward the mid 90s. Similar weather is expected for Independence Day. If any storms do pop up, they should fizzle by the evening.
Is there anything worth watching in the tropics?
Bonnie is tracking impacting Central America on it’s way to the Pacific Ocean, and it will stay well to our south. There are a couple of other low pressure systems with low formation chances, but neither is expected to reach our part of the Gulf.
