Pakistan – The highly anticipated 35th National Games across the country have officially begun, and a significant victory was secured by the Army on the very first day of competitions. The honor of winning the first Gold Medal of the National Games went to Lieutenant Misbah of the Army, who secured the top spot in the Women’s 50-meter Rifle event in shooting.
On the first day of official competitions, six Gold Medals were decided in the shooting event, with Army winning four and Navy claiming two. Lieutenant Misbah’s victory set the tone for the Games’ opening success.
New Record and Football Kick-off
The shooting competitions were not only about winning medals; a new national record was also established in the Men’s event. Navy shooters demonstrated outstanding performance in the 10-meter Air Pistol Team Event, writing their names into the record books.
Meanwhile, Men’s and Women’s Football competitions have also commenced at the National Games. In Women’s Football, the Army team delivered a dominant performance, defeating the KP (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) team with a massive margin of 23-0, while the match between Sindh and WAPDA ended in a 1-1 draw. A fierce competition and spirit are evident among the athletes in this quest for medals.
