KARACHI – The city of Karachi was struck by grief on Friday night as three individuals lost their lives in a series of unrelated traffic accidents and a violent shooting incident across different parts of the metropolis.
The first heartbreaking incident took place in the affluent Clifton Block 2 area, where a speeding water tanker struck and killed a motorcyclist. The impact was reportedly so severe that the victim died instantly at the scene. According to authorities, the identity of the deceased man could not be immediately established.
Tragically, the driver of the water tanker fled the scene on foot, abandoning the large vehicle. Police have since impounded the tanker and moved it to the Clifton police station. An investigation is underway, with police reviewing CCTV footage from the area to trace the runaway driver.
A second fatal accident occurred in Keamari, near PT Gate No. 17, where an elderly citizen was hit by an unidentified vehicle. The senior citizen sustained critical injuries and, despite efforts to rush him to a hospital, he succumbed to his injuries on the way. Police have obtained CCTV footage of this hit-and-run incident and are working to identify the vehicle and driver responsible.
In addition to these accidents, violence also claimed a life near Nagan Chowrangi. Unidentified assailants opened fire, resulting in one person being killed and another injured. The identity of the shooters remains unknown, and police have launched an investigation into the attack
