The global action legend and Hong Kong film icon, Jackie Chan, has once again been the target of baseless death rumors circulating widely across social media platforms. The unverified reports caused immediate and widespread concern among his millions of fans worldwide, who quickly rallied to debunk the false information.
This latest hoax originated from a Facebook account named ‘Stories About US,’ which falsely claimed that the “great Kung Fu star, Jackie Chan, has passed away.” To lend credibility to the fabricated news, the post included a photo allegedly showing Chan lying in a hospital bed, intensifying the spread of the hoax.
Crucially, no confirmation was provided by Jackie Chan’s family, close associates, or official spokesperson, immediately casting doubt on the veracity of the claim. Social media users expressed intense anger over the insensitive and irresponsible posting. One user sarcastically questioned: “Why is Facebook so determined to kill Jackie Chan every time?” while another insisted on the truth: “Jackie Chan is alive, don’t believe everything you read on Facebook.”
This is not the first time the actor has been subjected to such baseless rumors; false reports of his death have gone viral numerous times in the past. These irresponsible publications surface even as the actor continues to be active in his career. His most recent film, “The Shadow’s Edge,” was released in August 2025 and became a major success, topping the box office charts in China, highlighting the absurdity of these sensationalized death hoaxes.
