Authorities in northeast Harris County are conducting an investigation following the discovery of a man shot to death inside a crashed car early Saturday morning.
According to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to an accident in the 15100 block of Golden Eagle Drive shortly before 4 a.m.
Upon arrival, deputies found a black sedan that had collided with another vehicle parked on the street.
During the investigation, authorities found the victim, identified as a Black man in his late teens or early twenties, deceased in the driver’s seat from multiple gunshot wounds.
Investigators were informed that the victim may have been involved in a road rage incident with another driver driving a silver SUV just moments before the shooting and crash occurred.
After the crash, another individual, described as a Black man wearing a gray sweatsuit and possessing a slender build, was observed fleeing from the car with a backpack.
Further investigation revealed that the crashed black sedan had been reported stolen earlier in the day from a nearby apartment complex.
This incident marks the second road rage-related death in Harris County within the past three days. On March 5, another man was discovered in a wrecked car, allegedly shot during an altercation with another driver.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities encourage anyone with information to contact the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit at (713) 274-9100 or Crime Stoppers at (713) 222-TIPS (8477).
