Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman stated on Saturday that 20% of Americans stand in support of Hamas and Palestinians.
Expressing his views, Rehman said, “Doctors have claimed that children in Palestine are being martyred through targeted attacks. Israel faced defeat on October 7. It is necessary to support Hamas.”
He further stated, “Israeli occupation of Palestine is unacceptable.”
Rehman also emphasized, “We have a strong connection with Kashmir, which has been occupied by India.”
Criticism of Government’s IMF Policies
Separately, on Friday, Rehman criticized the current government for bowing to the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Addressing farmers in Lahore, he stated, “Farmers should be provided with all necessary facilities. Wheat and rice are matters of national food security. Farmers must not be mistreated under the guise of the IMF program.”
“We will fight for the rights of farmers,” Rehman asserted.
Opposition to IMF’s Meeting with Judiciary
Earlier, on Thursday, Rehman criticized the meeting between the IMF delegation and the judiciary, calling it a violation of the country’s sovereignty.
He expressed concern over the rising prices of gas and electricity and took a swipe at the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), saying, “Both PPP and MQM-P have been imposed on Karachi.”
“There is a wheat crisis in the country, as its price has yet to be announced,” Rehman added.
