HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — The Gulf low that we have been monitoring is making it’s way inland around Corpus Christi this morning.
Even though this low isn’t heading to SE Texas, it will send more moisture our way Sunday. We should start off with isolated rain in the morning and see more scattered rain near midday. The best chance of rain for our area will be southwest towards Matagorda Bay. Houston will have about a 40% chance of rain. Rain chances decrease as you head north and east. Any storm could produce a quick inch of rain with frequent cloud-to-ground lightning strikes and brief wind gusts above 40 mph. Temperatures will warm from the upper 70s to the low 90s.
Is any more rain on the way next week?
Yes, but first we dry out and heat up back toward 100 for the first half of the work week. Late in the week another disturbance and weak front will push down the Plains toward our part of Texas to bring rain chances back up again.
