Grand Prairie ISD officials reported a substitute teacher to police for inappropriate behavior last month, according to a statement the school district released Wednesday.
Videos showing a teacher who appeared to fondle himself at his desk have circulated online since the March incident at South Grand Prairie High School.
In the statement, the district called the substitute’s behavior “inappropriate” but did not provide further details.
Upon learning of the incident, the district said it immediately turned the matter over to the Grand Prairie Police Department.
Grand Prairie police did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
“Because Grand Prairie ISD respects the privacy of students and employees,” the district said, “neither the campus nor the district has been in a position to discuss the inappropriate behavior of a substitute teacher caught on video in March.”
The individual has not been on campus since the incident and will not return, according to the district.
