The political climate in Pakistan intensified as Minister of State for Interior, Talal Chaudhry, issued a sharp warning, hinting at the potential relocation of the PTI founder from Adiala Jail. The threat comes amid ongoing confrontation between the government and the opposition party.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Talal Chaudhry stated that if PTI supporters create disorder outside Adiala or pose a threat to the security of other inmates, the founder “will be transferred.” He directly accused the founder of attempting to “blackmail” the military establishment and its chief with the goal of regaining power and having his legal cases dropped. Chaudhry further contended that the founder had always relied on institutional support and would not have risen past the level of a councilor without external assistance.
The Minister emphasized the government’s hard-line stance against disorder. He warned that law enforcement would act decisively wherever chaos is spread, including around Adiala. He also made it clear that the government would not tolerate the misuse of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s provincial resources for political agitation.
Talal Chaudhry launched a severe ideological critique, asserting that the founder constantly uses his X (Twitter) handle for “unnecessary criticism” against state institutions while conspicuously avoiding any criticism of Israel or India. He questioned how long this narrative could be ignored, concluding his remarks with a scathing personal insult, implying the founder’s status is beneath that of a serious political leader, comparing him to a pet at Bani Gala.
