KARACHI, PAKISTAN – The rapid spread of the Nipah virus in India has sounded a global health alarm, raising concerns about the potential transmission of the disease through animal-to-human contact, contaminated food, or human-to-human interaction. With no cure or vaccine available, experts stress the need for high hygiene, ventilation, social distancing, home isolation, and protective measures to prevent the spread of the virus.
According to foreign media reports, the outbreak in India’s West Bengal has raised concerns in China and other Southeast Asian countries, prompting strict health checks at airports as millions of people travel for Chinese New Year celebrations. The Nipah virus, which can be transmitted from animals to humans, is a highly deadly disease that can cause symptoms such as fever, headache, severe breathing difficulties, and neurological disorders, potentially leading to encephalitis and coma in severe cases.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s PTI Secretary Information Sheikh Waqas Akram’s alleged audio message has been leaked, and he has been released from the Australian series. The French Embassy in Pakistan has also congratulated Ali Akbar, a Pakistani man who was awarded an honor in France. Additionally, former owner of the PSL team Multan Sultans, Ali Tareen, has been arrested.
