Senior Pakistani actress Ghazala Javed has sparked a social debate with her recent comments on marriage trends, stating that girls in the current generation are avoiding marriage because they desire “luxury and freedom.”
While appearing as a guest on a private TV channel program, the veteran actress was asked why she believes girls today do not want to get married.
In response, Ghazala Javed stated, “The main reason for not marrying, or marrying late, is that girls want luxury and freedom, which is why they run away from marriage.”
She further elaborated on her view that marriages contracted at a younger age are more successful. “If you go back some time, you can see that those marriages were more successful where girls married early,” she claimed, adding that marriages at an older age “are not as successful.”
