HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Get those umbrellas out! Gulf moisture is expected to push in on Monday bringing up our chances for rain.
We will start off with a few damp roads before intensity and coverage increases to 70% by the afternoon. Our main concern will be the potential for heavy rain which could lead to isolated street flooding.
How do rain chances look next week?
They look solid! A slug of deeper moisture in the Gulf will move into Southeast Texas early this week, elevating rain chances Monday through Wednesday. We still will have enough moisture and energy for at least a scattered rain chance for the end of the week and into the weekend.
Do we have a risk of flooding this week?
It is possible we could see some street flooding in the first half of the week as a big plume of tropical moisture sits over SE Texas.
What’s the latest on what’s happening in the tropics?
There are four areas of potential development that we are monitoring. For the very latest check out our daily tropical update.
