In a successful demonstration of international law enforcement cooperation, a high-profile fugitive wanted by police in Hafizabad, Punjab, has been arrested in Muscat, Oman, with the assistance of Interpol. This capture emphasizes that those facing serious charges cannot escape justice by fleeing the country.
The District Police Officer (DPO) of Hafizabad confirmed the arrest, stating that the individual was a wanted criminal sought in connection with multiple serious felony cases, most prominently for drug trafficking.
The DPO further revealed details of the accused’s criminal background, noting that he was also implicated in a major incident in 2022 where he allegedly injured a person in a firing incident. The successful apprehension abroad is a significant victory in the efforts to track down and prosecute criminals who have fled Pakistan. The accused will now be processed for legal action upon his return.
