HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — We’ve got a very steamy Sunday on the way, but things will feel much better after a front moves through Monday.
Temps will reach the middle and upper 90s and it’ll be very humid on Sunday. An isolated shower or two is possible during the afternoon as atmospheric moisture increases.
An Ozone Pollution Watch is also in effect. Ozone is a lung irritant that can trigger asthma attacks in sensitive individuals.
How long will this heat stick around
Our “fall-ish” front will arrive on Monday. Monday will still be hot but less humid. It’ll be a bit cooler and less humid Tuesday and beyond.
A “fall-ish” front? Tell us more!
You got it! This front will arrive Monday and deliver a crushing blow to the muggy Gulf air. Low temperatures will drop into the 60s behind the front, and the humidity will tank. High temperatures will drop into the upper 80s, and there’s even an outside chance some of you will wake up to morning lows in the 50s one or two mornings next week!
What’s happening in the tropics?
We are still closely monitoring Tropical Storm Ian in the Caribbean. It will likely become the first Gulf hurricane of the season. After hitting Jamaica and the Caymans late this weekend, Florida will be hit sometime between Tuesday and Thursday. For the very latest check out our daily tropical update.
