Former Finance Minister Miftah Ismail has stated that the current tax on petrol is approximately Rs. 80 per liter. Reacting to the statement made by Federal Minister Asad Umar, Miftah Ismail said that if the path was not changed in April-June 2022, Pakistan would have already been bankrupt. He claimed that the PTI-led government had stopped the IMF program and started giving subsidies on petrol and diesel. Miftah Ismail further stated that the only way to escape bankruptcy was the revival of the IMF program, which the cabinet did, but some high-ranking officials in the PML-N prevented us from making the right decision. They claimed that we had tried to fulfill the IMF’s condition of ending the subsidy on petrol.
Miftah Ismail revealed that the current government has increased the tax on petrol to approximately Rs. 80 per liter, and in 2023, the PTI government had pushed Pakistan towards another potential bankruptcy. He claimed that in 2023, Pakistan faced the highest inflation, the largest depreciation of the rupee, and that if no other path was available in June, the government had made an agreement with the IMF and saved Pakistan from bankruptcy.
Miftah Ismail stated that when the PTI government left, the value of the rupee against the dollar had reached Rs. 290, and now that the current government has completed two years, it should accept responsibility for the country’s economic situation. He further claimed that it is essential to avoid blaming the PTI for all economic issues, rather than blaming them for the 6% decline in the country’s imports in the first six months of the current fiscal year. Miftah Ismail also pointed out that the unemployment rate has reached its highest level in 21 years, and that the poverty rate is at an all-time high. He questioned how it could be the PTI’s fault.
Miftah Ismail also stated that foreign investment in Pakistan is at its lowest level in decades. Field Marshal Asif Nawaz visited the formation’s training exercises and emphasized the importance of preparing for future wars and adopting new technologies. In the coming 24 hours, the weather in the city of Quaid will remain dry, with a slight chill in the night. In the northern districts of Balochistan, it is expected to be severely cold today. Miftah Ismail further stated that the committee is evaluating the pressures of preferred marriage and education. Two flights from Abu Dhabi and Sharjah to Peshawar have been diverted to Islamabad. Only two government and nine private hospitals meet the health service standards in Balochistan: Balochistan Health Care Commission. In Adiala Jail, the founder of PTI, Imran Khan, and his wife Bushra Bibi met with the President of the Punjab Assembly. The President of the Punjab Assembly said that the decisions to lock up homes have taken away people’s livelihoods. Nepal has announced a reduction in electricity rates by 93 rupees per unit. The head of the JUI said that those who have gone to the ruling party should see their condition, we have always adopted the path of dialogue, and constitution-making has also been done through dialogue. He further stated that he has a suspicion about a person and hopes that the police will soon arrest the culprit. After the red book in Karachi police, the pink and blue books have also been included. The Merza Adam Khan Road in Karachi’s Lyari area has been left untouched by the government for a long time.
