Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan stated that India has been implicated in terrorist activities within Pakistan. However, recent investigations have traced phone calls originating from Afghanistan. He further mentioned that Pakistan has previously shared evidence of such activities with the Afghan government.
During the weekly press briefing, the spokesperson emphasized that holders of the Afghan Citizen Card (ACC) cannot remain in Pakistan indefinitely.
The government has resolved that all foreign nationals residing illegally will be deported in accordance with the law.
Shafqat Ali Khan also stated that terrorist groups, including Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), possess safe havens in Afghanistan, which presents a significant impediment to regional stability. He reaffirmed that Pakistan has decided to repatriate all illegal Afghan residents after March 31.
The Foreign Office spokesperson also pointed out that Pakistan has existing legal frameworks to address the issue of illegal foreign residents. He assured that Afghan nationals with valid legal documentation will be welcomed into the country. Furthermore, he indicated that ACC holders were granted special residency permissions, and policies concerning their status will be decided accordingly.
