On Wednesday morning, heavy showers in Harris County, Texas, resulted in various minor crashes and stalled vehicles due to flooding. A dramatic water rescue along Spring Cypress in northwest Harris County was captured in a video sent to Eyewitness News by Mellissa Clark with A.S.K. Towing and Recovery.
The footage shows crews rescuing a man from an SUV that hydroplaned, lost control, and crashed off the road into the water. The continuous rainfall since Tuesday night led to multiple high-water spots across the Houston area.
Steve Gekas commented on the challenging conditions, stating, “It’s hard to see the road, especially when there are ditches on either side.”
In Livingston, heavy rainfall caused a beaver dam to wash away a neighborhood’s main access road, leading to a shelter-in-place order.
