The first special Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight, carrying Pakistani nationals who were stranded in Iran, has successfully arrived in Islamabad. The flight, which departed from Ashgabat, brought back 107 Pakistanis who reached home around 3 AM.
According to a PIA spokesperson, the stranded individuals had to travel by land from Iran to Turkmenistan due to airspace closures. From Turkmenistan, they were then flown to Islamabad. The Pakistani embassies in both Iran and Turkmenistan played a vital role in facilitating this complex repatriation process.
The returning passengers expressed their gratitude to the government and PIA for their timely and commendable efforts in ensuring their safe return.
