A fire at an oil pipeline in Russia’s Orenburg region has resulted in the deaths of two people, as reported by TASS state news agency on Tuesday.
The regional prosecutor’s office has launched an investigation to determine the cause of the blaze, although specific details are currently unclear.
Unofficial reports about the fire began circulating on Russian Telegram channels on Monday, but the incident was only officially confirmed after the TASS announcement.
In a related incident, a Ukrainian drone attack on June 28 targeted a petrol depot, causing a fire, according to the governor of the Tambov region in central Russia. The strike occurred hundreds of miles from the border, and while the fire was contained without casualties, the governor reported.
Russia’s defense ministry reported intercepting 25 Ukrainian drones overnight but did not mention the Tambov region. In the western Bryansk region, Governor Alexander Bogomov stated that a drone was downed, with its debris partially damaging the roof of an administrative building.
