A fire broke out at a large recycling facility in Dallas on Saturday morning, sending a plume of black smoke into the sky.
Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to the blaze at CMC Recycling, located in the 1700 block of North Westmoreland Road near Interstate 30.
Firefighters found a large pile of scrap metal outside the facility on fire, with black smoke visible for miles around.
Dallas police blocked Westmoreland Road as firefighters stretched hoses across the street to combat the flames.
The fire flared up again Saturday afternoon, prompting firefighters to dispatch a second alarm as heavy equipment moved the metal to expose hot spots.
Dallas Fire-Rescue has successfully contained the fire to the debris pile. No injuries have been reported, and the cause of the fire remains unknown.
