The final season of ‘The Boys’ is currently in development, and its creator, Eric Kripke, has shared the latest progress on social media.
On X, Kripke responded to a fan’s inquiry regarding the progress of the final season.
He tweeted, “Season 5 is halfway through shooting. #VoughtRising writers’ room is crafting brilliant scripts, and new super suits are being designed. It’s all happening #TheBoys.”
Previously, Kripke acknowledged the series’ evolution into a political show. “Look, I think ‘The Boys,’ for better or worse, is a political show at this point. I think season four was political.”
He further told Forbes, “I think the world has increasingly come to resemble the show, which is not a positive development. And so, we simply lean into it. I mean, the show is about why and how you should question your leaders.”
The creator continued, “You should question anyone who stands before you. You should question anyone who offers simplistic solutions to complex problems and claims to be the only one who can save you—those are dangerous individuals.”
“Obviously, we’re not hesitant to express that, but I take some pride in the fact that our, shall we say, ‘bananas’ superhero show is one of the most relevant shows on television, reflecting the current state of the world, and that’s a good thing.”
“It’s remarkable for a superhero show to achieve that. So, I’m genuinely proud that we’ve managed to do it,” Kripke concluded.
