Singapore : Award-winning actor and producer Ram Charan is set to join the prestigious ranks of global icons at Madame Tussauds Singapore with his very own wax figure, scheduled to be unveiled in the summer of 2025. This exciting news was officially announced at the star-studded 2024 International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards held at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. Ram Charan, known for his critically acclaimed role in the global blockbuster RRR(2022) and the highly anticipated upcoming film Game Changer, was honored with the “Madame Tussauds of the Future Award,” a significant recognition of his growing global appeal.
A Milestone in a Stellar Career
Ram Charan, reflecting on the honor, shared his excitement:
“It’s an incredible feeling to be a part of Madame Tussauds alongside those who have contributed immensely to the world of cinema. As a child, I visited Madame Tussauds to see the legends and take pictures with them, and I never imagined that I would one day be part of it so early in my career. I’m grateful to Madame Tussauds for recognizing my work and motivating me to do even better.”
The announcement at the IIFA Awards further revealed a unique twist—Ram Charan’s wax figure will feature his beloved pet, Rhyme. This marks a special distinction, as he becomes only the second celebrity, after Queen Elizabeth II, to have their pet included in their wax figure.
“Including Rhyme in my wax figure means so much to me. It reflects the connection between my personal life and work, and it’s a wonderful tribute to Rhyme being such a big part of my life,” Ram Charan added emotionally.
Celebrating the Legacy of Indian Cinema Globally
The collaboration between IIFA and Madame Tussauds Singapore began in 2017, creating the IIFA Awards Experience zone within the attraction, exclusively dedicated to celebrating Indian cinema. This zone allows fans to engage with life-like figures of their favorite Indian stars. Icons such as Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, and Karan Johar have already been immortalized there, and Ram Charan will be the latest addition to this illustrious group.
Andre Timmins, co-founder of IIFA, commented on the partnership:
“The journey of collaboration between IIFA and Madame Tussauds has been remarkable in bringing the grandeur of Indian cinema to a global stage. Ram Charan’s inclusion underscores our shared vision of celebrating stars who have made an impact not only in India but worldwide. We are marking 25 years since Amitabh Bachchan’s figure was unveiled at IIFA in London, and this partnership continues to grow, showcasing the global influence of Indian cinema.”
Alex Ward, Regional Director, Gateway Asia at Merlin Entertainments, also expressed enthusiasm:
“It is a privilege to continue our longstanding partnership with IIFA to honor the legends of Indian cinema. We are thrilled to welcome Ram Charan’s figure, which will join other stars at our dedicated IIFA zone in Madame Tussauds Singapore.”
