Five Pakistani nationals were immediately taken into custody by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) at Lahore Airport after they were deported from Sharjah for attempting to travel to the United Kingdom using fraudulent British visas. The incident highlights the persistent issue of illegal migration networks exploiting vulnerable individuals.
An FIA spokesperson confirmed the arrests, noting that the passengers had originally left Lahore for Malaysia earlier this year on valid visit visas. However, they later attempted to complete the final leg of their journey—from Sharjah to the UK—using forged travel documents procured from illicit sources.
The agency stated that the individuals acquired the counterfeit visas with the help of agents, emphasizing the criminal element involved in facilitating the illegal travel. Following their apprehension upon landing in Pakistan, the five men were placed under custody. The case has now been transferred to the FIA’s Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Lahore for a comprehensive investigation aimed at dismantling the network of agents responsible for providing the fake documents.
