HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Our coldest weather since early April is on the way next week. Keep that in mind while you’re sweating it out in 90-degree heat this weekend.
Saturday morning will start with pleasant low temperatures in the mid 60s. The humidity will be high, so dew is likely on the ground around sunrise.
Plenty of sunshine will pass through a partly cloudy sky, warming temperatures into the low 90s during the afternoon. We can’t rule out a stray shower, but it will stay dry almost everywhere.
What can we expect from the weather on Sunday?
More heat, more humidity, and a slight chance you’ll come across a scattered shower. It’ll feel a little more balmy in the morning with lows only in the 70s. Temperatures will again warm to near 90 in the afternoon, but help is on the way. A stronger cold front will push into our northern counties during the evening, increasing rain chances from 30% in the afternoon to 60% overnight.
How will this front impact our weather after the weekend?
The front will bring widespread clouds and showers for Monday, especially in the morning. Rainfall accumulations will likely end up less than half an inch for most, but some fortunate neighborhoods could pick up over 1″ of rain. Temperatures will hover in the 70s all day Monday under the clouds.
How cool will it get behind this front?
Once the clouds and rain clear out behind the front, we should enjoy some delightful fall days with highs in the 60s and 70s and lows in the 40s and 50s! The last time Houston recorded a low in the 40s was April 9th.
