MARDAN: Federal Minister for States and Frontier Regions, Kashmir Affairs, and Gilgit-Baltistan, Engr Amir Muqam, stated that Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has no political future, claiming his chapter is effectively closed.
Speaking to journalists at the residence of Suraish Kumar, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) provincial president of the minority wing, Muqam alleged that the current PTI-led KP government had surpassed all previous records of corruption.
He claimed that PTI’s own provincial ministers were testifying against the corruption of their party’s leaders and ministers, with party lawmakers allegedly fighting over commissions from various public development projects.
Muqam criticized PTI leaders and workers, stating they were only focused on securing the release of their chairman, Imran Khan, and appeared indifferent to the public’s issues. He also condemned Imran Khan for failing to fulfill his promises of converting the prime minister, governor, and chief minister residences into educational institutions, while accusing the current KP government of planning to sell university land for illegal gains.
He further argued that, despite PTI ruling KP for the past 12 years, no significant improvements in public development projects had been observed.
On a positive note, the federal minister claimed that the current federal government, under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership, had brought financial stability to Pakistan. He mentioned that inflation had been reduced to 11 percent and the dollar rate had stabilized
