The Directorate General of Immigration has informed the Islamabad High Court (IHC) that the name of former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry has been removed from the Passport Control List, thereby effectively lifting the travel restriction previously imposed on him.
According to a report presented to the court, Fawad’s name was struck from the list just one day prior, in compliance with the court’s directives. Justice Inam Amin Minhas concluded the hearing and subsequently disposed of the petition.
Fawad’s counsel, Faisal Chaudhry, stated to the court, “It always benefits us to come here.” Stepping to the rostrum, Fawad Chaudhry personally expressed his gratitude to the court, remarking, “You know we aren’t going anywhere — we’re here to do opposition.”
As Justice Minhas concluded the case, he humorously commented, “You got the name removed by relentlessly pursuing it,” which elicited laughter in the courtroom.
