England has taken a 2-1 lead in the five-match series after defeating India by 22 runs in the third Test at Lord’s.
In pursuit of England’s 193-run target, the entire Indian team was bowled out for 170 runs. Ravindra Jadeja scored 61 runs and KL Rahul contributed 39, but most Indian players failed to reach double figures.
For England, Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer bowled brilliantly, each taking three wickets, while Braden Carse secured two, and Chris Woakes and Shoaib Bashir each took one wicket.
Earlier in the match, England won the toss and elected to bat first, reaching a total of 387 runs. Joe Root led the way with 104 runs, supported by Braden Carse with 56, Jamie Smith with 51, and Ollie Pope with 44.
India matched England’s first innings total by also scoring 387 runs. For India, KL Rahul scored a century, followed by Karun Nair (40), Ravindra Jadeja (72), and Rishabh Pant (74).
In the second innings, England set India a target of 193 runs. However, the Indian team was all out for 170 runs, resulting in a 22-run victory for England.
