The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has disqualified 24 former members of the national and provincial assemblies due to their failure to submit their financial details for the fiscal year 2022-23.
According to the details provided, the decision, which followed a comprehensive review of the cases, included 10 former members of the National Assembly and seven former members each from the Sindh and Balochistan assemblies.
Among those disqualified were former National Assembly Members (MNAs) Khurram Dastgir Khan, Mohsin Shahnawaz Ranjha, and Mohammad Adil. The list also comprised former MNAs Rana Mohammad Ishaq Khan, Kamaluddin, and Ismatullah, all of whom were declared ineligible by the Election Commission.
The ECP also deemed former MNAs Samina Matloob, Nasiba, Shamim Ara Panwar, and Rubina Irfan unfit to contest any elections until they provide their financial disclosures.
The electoral watchdog’s decision explicitly stated that these legislators would remain disqualified from participating in any future elections until they submit the required financial documentation.
