Ed Sheeran has revealed the name of his upcoming album, his entire future album roadmap, and his retirement plan regarding album releases.
During his appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” Sheeran disclosed that he’s inspired by director Quentin Tarantino’s approach. He intends to release 10 studio albums and then step away from that format.
He stated, “I wanna do my 10 and then every now and then do a side project.”
The “Shape of You” hitmaker revealed that his upcoming album is titled “Play.” He then shared that he conceived the names for his ten albums when he was 18 years old. His plan was to name the first five “Plus,” “Multiply,” “Divide,” “Subtract,” and “Equals,” and the subsequent five “Play,” “Pause,” “Fast Forward,” “Rewind,” and “Stop.”
Host Jimmy Fallon then inquired if Sheeran would truly stop after the “Stop” album. Sheeran revealed that he has another idea: to create one song for each year of his life and compile them into an album that would be released posthumously, titled “Eject.”
