On Thursday, February 20, 2025, Ed Sheeran took to his Instagram Story to share a heartfelt tribute to his late friend, English entrepreneur and DJ Jamal Edwards, who passed away three years ago.
In the caption, Sheeran expressed his sorrow, writing:
“Can’t believe it’s been 3 years since we lost you, miss you every day bro x @jamaledwards.”
In a second Instagram story, the Perfect hitmaker shared a video of his song F64, along with a link to it.
For those who may not know, Ed Sheeran and Jamal Edwards shared a deep friendship, with Jamal playing a pivotal role in the singer’s rise to fame.
Jamal Edwards was the founder of SBTV, a British music media platform, which helped launch Sheeran’s career in the early 2010s.
Edwards tragically passed away due to cardiac arrhythmia caused by recreational drug use. Following his passing, Ed Sheeran paid an emotional tribute by dedicating the song F64 to him.
This tribute comes just three days after Ed Sheeran celebrated his 34th birthday.
Sharing a birthday post, he wrote: “It’s ma birthday,” along with a colorful and vibrant party photo.
