Renowned singer Ed Sheeran surprised his fans on February 9 by holding a small street concert in India.
In a viral video, the “Shape of You” hitmaker was seen singing when a police officer approached and unplugged his microphone.
Following the incident, Ed took to Instagram to clarify:
“We had permission to busk btw, hence us playing in that exact spot, was planned out before, it wasn’t just us randomly turning up. All good though, See ya at the show tonight x.”
He had also performed two major concerts at NICE Grounds in Bengaluru on Saturday and Sunday.
For the street concert, Ed sported a casual look, wearing a T-shirt, shorts, and sunglasses.
In another clip, the “Shivers” singer was heard telling the crowd, “Everyone, we had permission to do this, but this policeman is shutting it down.”
A fan commented under the video, “Went for a casual walk on Church Street and stumbled upon Ed Sheeran performing live. What a city!”
Later, Ed Sheeran also shared pictures from a recording studio with Grammy-winning composer A. R. Rahman on Instagram.
