For the second consecutive day, earthquake tremors have been felt in Swat and its surrounding areas, with the seismic activity measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale. According to the Seismological Centre, the earthquake originated at a depth of 97 kilometers, with its epicenter located in the Hindu Kush mountain range. Fortunately, no casualties or property damage have been reported as a result of these tremors.
Tremors Also Felt in Balochistan’s Zhob District
Earlier, it was reported that an earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale was recorded in the Zhob region of Balochistan, according to the Seismological Centre. Details indicate that this earthquake’s epicenter was approximately 60 kilometers southeast of Zhob, with a depth of 40 kilometers beneath the Earth’s surface.
Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department director general had stated that the monsoon was anticipated to begin approximately a month earlier than usual. He added, “Typically, the monsoon season in Pakistan occurs during July and August.”
