The Ministry of Religious Affairs is poised to initiate advance registration for Hajj 2026 within the next four to five days. This new measure will mandate all aspiring pilgrims, whether intending to travel under government or private Hajj schemes, to complete an advance registration. According to sources within the ministry, this step is an integral part of a refreshed pre-planning strategy designed to ensure superior arrangements for Pakistani pilgrims, in close collaboration with the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, which has already emphasized the importance of early preparations.
Under this revised policy, applicants will be required to deposit a specific token amount along with their registration forms. This token payment will subsequently be adjusted against the total cost of their Hajj package. Only individuals who successfully complete this preliminary registration process will be deemed eligible for Hajj 2026. The Hajj registration facility will be available through designated banks across the country, and an official advertisement inviting applications is anticipated to be published within the next two to three days.
Officials have indicated that following the initial registration, pilgrims will have the flexibility to choose between government and private Hajj schemes. Furthermore, individuals who performed Hajj through a private scheme this year will also be obligated to register if they intend to undertake the pilgrimage in 2026. The collected registration data will be shared with the Saudi government, which will utilize it to establish Pakistan’s official Hajj quota. The Ministry of Religious Affairs has strongly encouraged all prospective pilgrims to begin their preparations for the sacred journey and to remain informed through official announcements.
