Buckingham Palace released a statement indicating that the Duke of Kent represented King Charles at the Victory in Europe Day Concert held on Wednesday. Prince Edward, the 89-year-old Duke of Kent, is the late Queen Elizabeth II’s first cousin. His wife, Katharine, Duchess of Kent, currently 92 years old, holds the distinction of being the oldest living member of the British royal family.
As per the statement, the Parliament Choir performed at the event hosted within Westminster Hall. “The 100-member Parliament Choir, accompanied by the Sinfonia Smith Square Orchestra, performed classical musical pieces from various European nations, commemorating 80 years of peace,” it detailed.
The Duke of Kent recently participated in a ceremony at Windsor Castle, where he was accompanied by Chief Scout Dwayne Fields. Following the palace’s sharing of photos from the event, royal family supporters expressed high praise for the 89-year-old’s dedication to his royal duties. One admirer commented, “The Duke of Kent embodies duty and loyalty.” Another stated, “HRH The Duke of Kent is a true pillar of the royal family.”
