According to the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), a new record was set for public transportation use on New Year’s Eve. Over 283,600 people used public transportation, taxis, online booking services, and shared transportation options to travel across the city. This is a 13% increase from last year’s New Year’s Eve celebrations, when approximately 2.5 million people used transportation services.
The RTA reported that about 1.25 million passengers used the Red and Green Metro lines to travel across the city. Additionally, over 500,000 people used buses and on-demand bus services to travel. The authority also stated that 662,000 people used taxis to travel, while 77,000 people used marine transport services. Furthermore, over 286,000 people used online booking services to travel.
