Sources have revealed that the absence of DRS (Decision Review System) technology during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and the Pakistan-Bangladesh series was allegedly due to pressure exerted by ICC Chairman Jay Shah.
According to inside sources, Hawk-Eye, the company responsible for providing DRS technology, decided not to send its staff to Pakistan despite a ceasefire in the region. The company informed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) of its refusal to operate in the country.
Hawk-Eye cited ongoing conflict and perceived security concerns as the reason for its decision, stating that it did not wish to deploy its personnel under the prevailing circumstances. In response, the PCB assured the company that there were no security threats in Pakistan. It emphasized that international players were currently in the country and offered presidential-level security measures, including bulletproof vehicles, for Hawk-Eye staff.
Despite these assurances, the company remained firm in its stance.
Sources claimed that ICC Chairman Jay Shah influenced this decision in an alleged bid to undermine the remaining PSL matches and upcoming series in Pakistan.
