A dramatic and emotional scene unfolded outside the Hali Road General Hospital in Hyderabad when a woman gave birth in the back of an auto-rickshaw just moments after arriving at the facility.
According to details, the woman’s husband had rushed her to the hospital in the rickshaw as she was in active labor.
Dr. Abdul Qayyum, the Medical Superintendent (MS) of the hospital, confirmed the incident. He stated that when the woman arrived, she was already “very close to the final process of delivery.”
He explained that the woman’s condition was critical, leaving no time to even move her from the vehicle to the labor ward. Recognizing the urgency, a lady doctor made the quick decision to perform the delivery right there in the rickshaw, just outside the hospital building.
Hospital staff immediately rushed to cover the rickshaw with sheets to provide privacy for the woman. Following the successful birth, both the mother and her newborn baby were safely transferred inside the hospital.
