Donald Trump’s White House shared a controversial post on Valentine’s Day, sparking widespread outrage on social media.
According to The Mirror, the US president, who repeatedly vowed during his campaign to stop and deport illegal immigrants, shared a special message in the form of a Valentine poem, warning them of deportation.
The White House’s official Instagram account posted on Friday, February 14, 2025, featuring Trump and “border tsar” Tom Homan alongside a fabricated quatrain that read:
“Roses are red, violets are blue, come illegally, and we’ll deport you.”
The White House also commented under the post: “Happy Valentine’s Day.”
The Valentine post immediately drew criticism and backlash from social media users, who labeled it as “disgusting” and “disappointing.”
One user wrote, “Whoever runs this page needs to be fired.”
Another added, “So unprofessional and disgusting.”
A third person commented, “I’m so disgusted and disappointed. How could anyone think this is okay? The White House!? What a country.”
A fourth remarked, “Why is the government becoming a meme page?”
Meanwhile, another user said they refreshed the page “twice to make sure this was real.”
Additionally, the White House post came just days after press secretary Karoline Leavitt announced that over 8,000 people had been arrested in immigration enforcement actions since Trump took office for the second term. Some of the illegal immigrants have been deported, while others have been sent to prison.
