United States President Donald Trump has asserted that peace between Iran and Israel will be achieved soon, citing ongoing communications and meetings as indicators of progress. In a statement posted on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump declared, “Iran and Israel should make a deal — and will make a deal — just like I facilitated between India and Pakistan by leveraging trade with the United States. That helped bring reason, cohesion and sanity to the talks between two excellent leaders who quickly reached an agreement.”
Trump also referenced his administration’s role in de-escalating tensions between Serbia and Kosovo. “During my first term, Serbia and Kosovo were heading towards renewed conflict after decades of hostility. The situation was on the brink of war, but I stopped it. President Biden’s decisions have hurt long-term prospects, but I will fix it again,” he claimed.
Additionally, he pointed to his involvement in mediating tensions between Egypt and Ethiopia concerning the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, which impacts the flow of the Nile River. “There is peace — at least for now — because of my intervention, and it will stay that way,” he stated.
Reaffirming his broader Middle East ambitions, Trump proclaimed, “Peace between Israel and Iran is coming soon. I do a lot and never get credit for it, but that’s OK — the people understand. Make the Middle East Great Again!”
