New Zealand cricketer Daryl Mitchell has shared a heartfelt message of peace in response to the recent tensions between Pakistan and India, two nations he holds dearly.
“It’s been tough to watch two countries that are so close to my heart in conflict over the past few days. My thoughts are with those affected on both sides,” Mitchell said.
The all-rounder acknowledged the significant impact of both the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and the Indian Premier League (IPL) on his career, expressing gratitude for the opportunities and memories they have provided.
“Both the PSL and IPL have played major roles in my career, and I’ve always cherished my time in both tournaments. I hope peace prevails and we can get back to playing the game we love, continuing to give back to the amazing people who support us.”
Mitchell, who is currently at home with his family, concluded by saying he is looking forward to returning to both countries in the future.
“They’re places I truly love spending time in—close to my heart.”
