DART is undertaking repairs this week following an incident on Sunday morning when a Dallas Fire-Rescue (DFR) engine fell off an elevated roadway at I-345 Expressway and South Good Latimer Expressway.
Repairs are expected to be completed by Wednesday, July 24.
Early on July 21, the fire truck landed on the DART tracks below near Interstate 345 and South Good Latimer Expressway. As a result, significant delays are anticipated for commuters until at least July 24, according to DART.
During this period, DART will operate a bus bridge to assist passengers. The shuttle buses will serve the following Central Business District locations:
– Cityplace/Uptown
– Deep Ellum
– Pearl/Arts District
– West End
– EBJ/Union
– Victory
Key transportation tips from DART:
– Buses are running in a circular route between these stations and will be labeled “Shuttle.”
– Passengers at the St. Paul/Akard location will take a shuttle to the CBD West location and then transfer to the buses marked Shuttle for service to the listed destinations.
– These shuttles are replacing light rail service and will help passengers connect to light rail trains.
– Orange Line riders between Cityplace/Uptown and Parker Road stations should use the Red Line trains for connections and then use the bus bridge within the Central Business District to reach their final destination.
– For travel to DFW Airport: take the shuttle to Victory Station, then board the Orange Line to the airport.
