Jennifer Faith, an Oak Cliff widow who initially begged for help finding her husband’s killer, has admitted she had a role in his murder.
Court records filed this week show Faith, 49, entered into a plea deal with federal prosecutors in the murder-for-hire. In the agreement, she admits she plotted her husband’s death with her lover, Darrin Ruben Lopez, 49.
Lopez is accused of driving about 650 miles from his Cumberland Furnace, Tenn., home to Dallas to commit the murder of 49-year-old James “Jamie” Faith on Oct. 9, 2020.
James Faith, an American Airlines technology director, was walking the couple’s dog with his wife when he was gunned down. Lopez, wearing a mask, shot James Faith three times in the head, three times in the torso and once in the groin, federal authorities have said.
Federal prosecutors said Jennifer Faith used two fake email accounts to write to Lopez posing as her husband as well as a friend to manipulate him into killing James Faith.
Jennifer Faith admitted in court documents to lying to Lopez that her husband physically and sexually abused her, according to the plea agreement.
Jennifer Faith, posing as her husband, emailed pictures of injuries and wrote: “Enjoy knowing you can’t do a [expletive] thing about it.” Faith admitted that some of the photos were not of her and that she found them on the internet, according to the plea agreement.
In another email, posing as a friend, Jennifer Faith wrote: “Jamie slapped Jen…then he sent the pic of him choking her. I am asking if you are willing to get involved and help Jen get out of this situation.”
