A concerted effort to compromise the data of critical security institutions in Pakistan was thwarted after foreign hackers launched a cyber attack targeting the Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA). The attempted breach was swiftly and effectively neutralized.
According to the spokesperson for the Punjab Forensic Science Agency, teams from the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) and the Forensic Science Agency collaborated immediately upon detection to repel the cyber assault.
The spokesperson confirmed that a robust security plan was already in place to safeguard against such attacks, and its timely implementation proved successful. As a result of this successful defense, it was verified that all records and reports belonging to the Punjab Forensic Science Agency remain completely secure. This success highlights the preparedness and technical capability of the IT sector in protecting sensitive national records.
